Chlamydia

Chlamydia infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide. It transmits through intercourse and is caused by the bacteria Chlamydia Trachomatis.
Chlamydia is most common in the ages 15-25.
Symptoms are often a burning sensation when urinating and discharge from the urethra (boys) and the vagina (girls). Around 2/3s of all infected have no symptoms of Chlamydia.
Chlamydia is easily treated with antibiotics, but if untreated, it can leave you sterile.
You can get screened for Chlamydia at your doctor or a venereal clinic.
The best way to protect yourself against Chlamydia is by always using a condom when you have sex, not just when you engange in regular intercourse but also when you have oral or anal sex.
